A Great Find

Posted by

Once in a while an antique buyer will come across something magnificent – a really special find. That has happened several times in the past with our Chuck and it happened again last week. He was at a very nice estate sale in Georgia when he saw the vase……..

He knew by looking at it that it was special. An art glass vase with a beautiful blue top and opalescent stripes on the stem and base. He bought the vase and discovered afterward that it was a signed Tiffany. That made his week! Even made his month!

Those of us in this business value the past. We look for the items that our sweet grandmothers had in their homes. We try to find value in things that some people just want to get rid of. We hope that the things we rescue and put in our web store will resonate with someone in a good way and maybe help them smile when they see them. The Tiffany vase was a very special find but so was that set of Blue Ridge pottery that was just what one customer was looking for! And that old pair of glasses that the young man tried on and laughed because he looked just like John Lennon! I hope you have something in your home or office that makes you smile no matter what kind of day you are having.

Be sure to come see us at our permanent booth at the Lakewood 400 Antiques Market in Alpharetta, Georgia. We are in Hall D (past the office and turn left – we are all the way at the back corner). The market is February 19th, 20th, and 21st.
